Unhappy overheated dead since

I have a 1999 wj Grand Cherokee LTD,mileage 150,000.Was told it needed attn to the transmission.Took it for diagnosis, was told it had
seven fault codes on the transmission and two on the cooling. Was not
told what the codes were but the shop manager was very keen to buy
the vehicle from me.Drove it for about six months with the check engine light on no problems and yes I did check oil levels etc regularly.
One night it over heats in the middle of the Bay Bridge, had to drive it off the bridge, the engine stopped after about a mile and we coasted off the bridge. It has not started since.
I have checked for sparks OK,there was no sign of a coolant leak, the
coolant is clean and the level well up in the resevoir,no sign of water
in the oil.The engine cranks, the battery is new.If I squirt a bit of carb
cleaner down the intake and crank the motor it will fire but not run
which makes me think of fuel starvation but then I still have the problem
of whatever caused the overheating.
ANY SUGGESTIONS????????

If you turn the key on can you hear a click from fuel pump relay, under the hood. There is a power distribution box right behind the battery. Remove the lid, turn it over it shows a diagram of the relays and fuses that are in the box. Find the one marked fuel pump relay put your finger on top of it. Have someone turn the key on you should be able to hear or feel the relay click. you can swap the relays with another they are all the same. Remove each one of the small fuses, one at a time, check if any are blown Questions holler Dale [email protected]
