95 2.2 help needed

I have a 2.2 5 spd that is in need of help.I just put plugs, wires, pcv and air filter in it.It ran better for a minute then not.It has no power starting off or driving.Won't even do highway speeds. It idles fine but even no load accelerates slow.Even slower moving the truck. Is this a normal fix or where should I start looking.

I would lean towards a restricted converter...also check to make sure none of your exaust pipe is bent shut...

did you replace the fuel filter.

even if it isn't the cause a clean fuel filter will save your fuel pump in the future

It could eith be that since you have no converter the o2 sensor is reading incorrectly or that you replaced the spark plug wires in the wrong order.

Have your head checked. I had similar symptoms and thought the converter was bad. Turned out the be a cracked head.
