tailgate cables

Any S-10 owners (mine is a 2001) out there tried to replace these? What a poor engineering design. These cables should have been recalled along with the larger trucks. From what I heard from others, the whole latch assembly must be rmoved to get to these and i might just have the dealer due it depending on cost...

Re: tailgate cables

No he will have to pull the latches out and then cut(or grind) studs off that holds the cable on.The cables sold on ebay come with new studs that have snap rings to hold on the new cables.
