water in back of my rex

so every time it rains everything in the back of my rex gets all wet. i dont think its coming from the hatch because its dry when i check it so maybe something else is leaking? anyone had this problem before or should i replace my seals. i do know that part of the seal for my rear side window is broken on the outside but i tried to pour water in it and it doesent leak atleast not when im watching it.

Re: water in back of my rex

It could be the weather stripping on the hatch, cracked seam sealer, taillights, sunroof. Alot of possabilitys.

Re: water in back of my rex

if yours has a sunroof you should check the drainage tube.

Re: water in back of my rex

that's one of the probs with our cars, the engines etc. last longer than the body parts do most of the time, like the stripping etc.

anyone have a list of things that are ready to go out after 14 years so i can go ahead and replace them before they break? lol

Re: water in back of my rex

Put your car on jack stands, replace everything not touching the ground. Repeat every 15 years.

That was the issue with mine. Who ever had it before me didn't put the tubes from the roof back into the right spot so it could drain.

that happend to me, water was coming in threw the top of the tail lights(draining from the "ditch" around the hatch). duct taped it and problem fixed.

my center taillight piece leaks alot and whenever i open the trunk after it rains i get a steady fast drip from it. And when my car was wrecked it filled up a lil in the bottom of the trunk when it was sitting, and it drained when we had it up in the air.
