Angry 99 ford windstar

I just changed the plugs, wires, and fuel filter on our van. It has 135k miles. It was running fine but these items have not been changed since it was new (1999). Now it is running rough and smells like it is burning fuel inefficiently. I do not have a code reader and have tracked the plugs wires back and forth and they appear to be hooked up correctly, now what is wrong? Wife getting very furious.

My bet is you have the cables wrong. What are you using for a reference to get the cables correct?

Also, what type of plugs did you use?

Cool sliding door and dome light issues.

Figured it out, didn't have one of the plug wires pushed on all the way. felt like it was, but it wasn't. Hooha, she is happy again!!!!! Now she wants the rest of the van fixed so here goes. The sliding door does not always open or close. The dome light comes on by itself and a speaker in the back comes off/on on its own. I am guessing there is a short somewhere, but not sure where to start looking. Any suggestions.

Re: 99 ford windstar

For the speaker I would suggest either a short or a loose connection most likely at the speaker itself.

If the "rear speaker" is on the sliding door, then it is probably related to your door issures. I don't know why Ford chose to mount the speakers on the doors ...bad move!
Cleaning/lubricating the door mechanisms and the elect contactors should be high on your list.
