key won't turn forward to start, any tricks

Hi, the key can turn backward on my 99 gt (tilt and manual tranny) but cant turn forward to start the car. If my ignition is gone can someone tell me how to change the key and tumbler out, and what I have to watch out for. Thanks

do you have a lot of crap on your key ring?? sounds like your wore out your tumblers in your ignition switch. Too much weight on your ignition switch will cause your tumblers to wear out and inturn you will have a very difficult time turning the key to start the car.

Yeah what CRJ said. I often have to play with the wheel in my Honda to make the key turn, it is a safety feature or some bullshit.
