Unhappy What 2 Do?

Great! Got sandwiched between a 5700 lb. Caprice station wagon and a Hyundai Elantra. My 92 Lude is scrunched from both ends!! (Not my fault and thank god nobody was hurt.) My car is at the body shop and have yet to hear if they are going to total it out or what. Most of my peeps tell me the insurance company probably will total it out because the repairs will cost almost as much as the car is worth. (In their eyes). I guess I want to know if I will be able to keep everyhting I put into the car after I purchased it? IE - Rims & tires, engine, intake, ECU, chip, stereo. Will I keep it or at least get compensated for it? Let's say I came up with about $4,000 dollars after all was said and done. What car should I be looking at for what price? Aw to hell with it, I just want my damn Lude back!!!!!!! But anywho, any pointers in the right direction would help. If I can get my engine and what not back, anybody know anybody who would want a H22a w/ P13 ECU. There is no damage from the accident, it purrrrrrrrrs like a kitten. Depending on what I get into next I might also be selling my rims and tires. Black ICW's w/ 205/50/16's Falken racing tires. They are a month old and not a scratch on them. Anyway, I should find out Monday what's gonna happen. All u Wake Techy's watch out for drivers on Lake Wheeler. They suck!!!!

Re: What 2 Do?

wow dude that sux srry. but hey if they say ur car is totalled I would buy the highest year lude with the fewest miles on it the engine you want then take out ur aftermarket equip. thats on ur totalled lude and start over, since u love ludes and all. thats just my advice. and whether or not u get compensated for ur aftermarket parts all depends on if u claimed them with ur insurance. if not then im pretty sure ur S.O.L.

Yeah i think unknownluder is right. However, you can buy the car back from the insurance company, usually for a really really low price. After that the car is yours and you can do whatever you want with it. If you don't get compensated, I think your best bet would be to do that, use the parts you want, and then part out anything else that you can.
