95 z71 hp rating

A buddy of mine at work asked me to find out what the horsepower rating is of his truck. Some places on the internet say it's 200 and others it's 250hp ...with the 350ci (non-vortec). Any ideas which it is? I'm pretty sure the '96 model is the one with 250hp.

Thanks
Sam

It is either 200 or 210 not the 255 of the vortec.

Re: 95 z71 hp rating

Yes, 88-95 tbi 350s were rated at 210 horsepower and 300 ft-lbs of torque or so. In 1996, with the new "vortec" intake and larger camshaft, horsepower jumped to 250 and torque went up to 335. 97-99 or so only increased by 5 horsepower.
