gear ratio help

new here, found site threw camaros.net i need help picking a gear ratio for my rear its a 69 camaro not tubbed (3400lbs) all steel except for hood motor is a 454 30 over true 12.5 compression lunati 630 solid lifter cam advanced duration 296/304 @50 263/271, gm aluminum sqaure port open chamber heads 225 intake valve 188 exhaust team g single plane with a holley 4150 950 hp carb, 4 in callies race master crank lunati pro mod rods 6.385 length, jw 400 turbo (after i find the right gear i will buy a converter) rear is a new strange 60 dana style. tire is a mt et street 29.5x11.5 car has multi leaf springs and cal trac bars also car is for local cruising and drag racing no highway i might add 150-250 shot of nos im thinking 4.10 or 4.30 gear also if someone could dyno this i am curious on hp thanks for any help...mike

forum policy is to avoid doubble posting threads, it eats up bandwidth. that being said i will lock the thread in the general forum and leave this thread open as it is a performance question.

no worries, i actually do it to make sure you get all the help, when there are two threads it divides up the responces and makes it harder to keep the advice constructive rather than repetitive.

You got a good setup dude!!I'll give you props on that.I put it on my dtd and it said you should make about 420 to 495 hp with open exhaust and a few other things I added not knowing if you had it or not.But to answer your question I would run 4.10s or 4.11s if its going to be a drag car and in town cruser and no highway driving.

my motor at the flywheel makes 680 horse power where do you come up with 495?
