possible new car

i have a few questions that i cant find answers for

1. the car is a 1991 Civic CX (canadian) with 100K miles

it has black bumpers, a 5 speed, no center console, factory radio block off and shitty vinyl seats...

2. its super slow

3. its in good shape

questions:

1. what engine does this have?
2. is this a candidate for a mini-me swap?
3. is this the car that you have to swap hubs and shit for a ZC swap?

anyway.. any info would be great cuz this car is CHEAP and ill have about 2000 bucks left to mod it... thanks

Travis

1. the Canadian CX is essentially the same as a DX except the crappy seats and lack of options, thus it has a d15b2 with the DX 5spd tranny (I have one) you can tell by the block plate on the passenger side front of the engine

2.it could be used for a mini me, but you would have to convert to multi port. you can search for that, there a billion and a half articles on it. As far as the mini me, I wouldn't bother, if you want more power, go find a d16z6/y8 in good shape and drop the whole engine in, mixing and matching parts doesn't make for a reliable conbination enless done by someone who knows thier stuff, and since your asking, your not there yet (not saying I am either)....

3. Its not the same hubs as the American STD, they are DX ones, so you don't have to change them......

recomended first mod, go find some Si seats......

Re: possible new car

The d15b2 for you has 92hp while the D15b1 std (cx here in the states) is 70hp. Usually, the 4-spd manual came with the d15b1 while the 5-spd or auto came with the d15b2.

Re: possible new car

Yeah a 99-00 Si would have a b16a2 in it...not a d16y8. The y8 came in the Civic EX from 96-00
