Cold air intake

Hey Guys,

Just wondering if the cold air intakes (K&N, AIraid, etc.) are worth the $$$ for a 3.4 V6? Performance, gas mileage?......or maybe just replace the stock air filter with a K&N? Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!!!

Re: Cold air intake

Open up the stock air cleaner box with a deck plate and put in a good-quality air cleaner element (AMSOIL or TRD).

Re: Re: Cold air intake

We replaced the stock intake w/K&N FIPK. It freed up five horses according to GTech Pro. The best mod we made to the truck was the JBA Headers w/Magnaflow Catback Exhaust. On highway, we gained about 8 more mpg.

Re: Cold air intake

I was told by the guy at toyota that having a k&n can void your warranty with toyota. I don't know why they sell them at Toyota if that is so...

Re: Cold air intake

The FIPK, or just the K&N filter?

Re: Cold air intake

The problem with K & N is it does a good job of letting air AND dirt in. K & N even admits that their filters do a better job filtering when they are clogged with dirt. I would use Amsoil or TRD brand.

Hi,
I like your truck, looks almost like to mine, I have color matched flairs and rear bumper otherwise they are identical. You however, are HOT, the truck is just icing on an already fabulous cake. If I wasn't on a diet, I'd have to take a bite.LOL
