Re: Vats Moudule Itself

the vats module can quit, but its very rare, something else i would try is to check the vats relay. it is behind the driver side kick panel. remove two screws to take it off. and pull away, you might have to manuver it around the hood release. in a hole in the frame sheetwork you will find an electronic relay, this is the relay that the vats module controls to send power to the starter. you can bypass this temporarily by sliding a small peice of cardboard into the relay like a wedge and holding it closed. then try to start the car, if it fires up, its probly the relay, if its not the relay its the vats module. i would just check the relay before the module because all you have to do to get to the realy is take off a panel. to get to the vats module you have to take out almost the entire dash assembly.

Re: Vats Moudule Itself

they should be able to get you a vats module with the same resistor value.

Re: Vats Moudule Itself

89 Camaro died while driving. The starter doesn't make any noise when trying it and the headlights do not dim when trying to crank. Gages on dash do not work but the left dash light comes on when the key is turned on. When twisting key to start position, temp gage pegs high. I've checked the battery, alternator and replaced the ignition switch down on the steering column. When removing either connection to the battery, there's a pretty good spark like something is shorted out. Can the computer codes help with this and if so, how do you read them? That vats relay sounds pretty likely too. Can anyone help me, please?
