how do i reduce blow-by, i have a 2.5 4cl, xj.

Hone the cylinders and replace the piston rings. If the cylinder wear is excessive, a re-bore and oversized pistons are required.
However, both require extensive disassembly, so, if the rest of the vehicle is in good shape, spend a few more dollars and rebuild the entire engine.
