I have a 97 K1500 GMC Sierra with 16 inch wheels. The biggest tire I can get on it without a lift is 285/75/16. You might try a 285/75/15 if it exists.

Re: biggest tires without a lift

I have a '97 z71 Sierra stepside with 285/75/16 BFGoodrich AT's. I wouldn't think any bigger tire would fit without a lift.

285's ?

I jsut put new tires on my 99, and I went with 265's. I thought about 285's but I am worried about tire wear on the small rim. Does the 285 width cause excess center wear on the stock rims? Rims look a little narrow for 285's to me.
