I have a 1996 Ford Taurus that dies out when over 50 mph and I hit the gas hard to either pass someone or to just go faster and i hit the gas pedal with force--What would be the best thing to replace first fuel filter, catalytic converter, O2 sensor. Looking for some suggestions

Dies out on hard accel
Fuel filter first, then check for plugged exhaust, ie, plugged catalyst or restrictive damage to exhaust someplace.
