Why Was Kanye West in the Hospital..??
I just caught the last minute of one of his music videos. It showed different stills of him in a hospital bed, with his face really swollen..
Why was he in the hospital, what happened..?

He was in a very bad car accident that caused him to have his jaw wired shut for a long time. "Through the Wire" chronicles this event.

It happend october of last year, and after he got out of the hospital he went to his studio and recorded through the wire while his mouth was wired shut.

Damn... poor thing, he looked messed up. Thats probably why his face kinda has that swolen look to it, even today.
What was the details of the accident?

he also has a big metal plate in his jaw to replace the bone that got shattered. that's why his chin protrudes and he talks kinda funny.
