In a word, YES, marijuana should be legalized. There will always be people who abuse substances. Legalization would make it safer, cheaper, and the government would make a shitload of money off of it, instead of worthlessly spending tax dollars to combat it. If alcohol is legal, marijuana should be legal.

Keep it illegal. There's nothing worse than being around silly-assed stoners giggling and acting retarded. If they do legalize it, confine them to one state, close it off to the rest of the world, let them fend for themselves, and put it on live television.

The only downside to pot is that it is loaded with more carcinogens (cancer causing agents) than smoking cigarettes and there are already enough people dying from cancer. Legalizing it may take the fun out of doing it and therefore decrease the number of those who do it. All i can say is that if i owned a business and during lunchbreak my employees went and smoked a bowl, i'd be pissed because after that they're pretty well worthless to me, but since it's legal, there isn't much that i can do to stop them. Think of it that way. Drugs are fun, just like drinking, but theres a point where you just have to grow up.

Apperently legalizing pot does not have the support it needs - not by a long shot.

Eh, I dunno bout that. You'd be surprised how many people smoke weed. Not everyone who smokes weed is your stereotypical "pot head". People from all walks of life dabble with ganja. Think about that. Compare weed to alcohol. Think about all the damage alcohol has done, drunk driving, fighting, alcoholism, liver damage, etc. Alcohol brings the worst out of [some] people, weed makes them hungry, passive, etc. How many people have been killed due to someone drinking and driving? How many people have been killed due to smoking pot and driving? When I compare weed to alcohol, weed in my eyes is completely harmless.

I say legalize it!

Well, if you owned a business and those same employee's were drinking alcohol instead of smoking weed, is there still nothing you could do? I mean alcohol is legal but I'll be damned if owners want their employee's stinkin drunk on job. So if your employee's were smoking, or drinking, there is something you can do about it, fire them! Thats right, your the boss. Put your friggin foot down!
