88 accord idle issues Fixed!! No help needed....
My brother has an 88 accord with FI. He is in CA. and I am in IN. and am trying to help him figure this out (by remote). He is less of a mechanic than I ( which isn't saying much) So please bear with me... The problem as it was explained to me:
"The car tries to die (at idle) after driving for a while (warmed all the way up) but it only does this while the Trans is in the "PARK" position"
Well all never mind, we got it worked out.... As he and I were talking today he tells me "And now it's over heating" So I remembered reading in another post where low coolant could cause the EAICV to malfuction, so I had him blead the the coolant system, to which there was a lot of air in it (from recently replacing a bad heater hose) then he had to add some coolant to bring it up to normal operating levels... The idle smoothed out, the temp settled to normal... and all is well with the world....lol
I will leave this up here as hopefully this might help someone else... Also people are a little slow to respond on this board....lol (maybe someone can answer their own questions)
