1998 Grand Cherokee Limited auto tranny problem

hey fellas,
I could use some advice regarding a noisy slipping automatic tranny. Belongs to a friend, she's stuck without wheels and kids in tow. Some guy did a filter and fluid change on her truck, now it makes a whining noise. sounds like its coming from inside the pan, not from the torque conv. or transfer case. The fluid is full, but it slips badly. It was working just fine prior to the change.Any ideas?

also, if it requires an additive and none was put in, it would cause problems as well.
