2000 Dakota won't start

I have a 2000 Dodge Dakota with a 3.9 V6. The truck sits outside and when it rains it won't start. If the sun comes out and it dries up it starts right away and runs perfectly.
If it is raining or damp and misty it won't start. What gives?

Re: 2000 Dakota won't start

I just got a 99 Dakota in a private sale and am having similar issues. Although it's hard to tell since the weather has only been damp since I got it. I had a mazda pickup before and had an issue with difficult starts and poor electrical due to moisture in the wires. Replaced them and the problems went away. I'm wondering if it might be wet wires again, but I'm not mechanic. The mechanic want's to focus on the remote starter, but it's been in for nearly the life of the truck without issues so I don't know why he is focusing on that. (Although I do know that they are finnicky things).
