Hummers
Hey everyone, I have searched high and low for topics on hummers and couldnt find any. Im sorry if theres any i missed. I mainly looking for off-road hummers and not so much slammed or dubbed hummers. I am new to 1:18 scale modding and would like pictures/ideas and any help possible on this subject. I would like to turn my H1 soft top into a safari type truck. Sorry for giving you so much to read and also if anything is wrong with this post. Thanks in advance.

Re: Hummers
Welcome Alexander! Glad to see you used the search function. The H1's are sweet trucks. You said you wanted to turn it into a safari truck. What is your problem that you encounter?

I dont really have any problems as of yet, i was just hoping for some ideas i could feed off of. the 2 main things i have in mind of doing are making a roof rack and snorkel. not too sure what to use to make the snorkel but ill be searching until i find something. im thinking maybe some aux lights would look pretty sweet on it too. any ideas or advice is welcome. thanks again for the warm welcome.-Alexander P.S. i know some of you dont like to type much so feel free to call me Alex or Spect whichever tickles you the right way lol |

Re: Re: Hummers
I have an extra snorkel (I'm assuming you're talking about the tall exhaust on military humvees) from a maisto humvee if you'd like it. Not sure how to make the other two though.

Re: Hummers
Hey Alex, for the roof rack you can use styrene rod. Styrene is a type of plastic, and its available at your local Hobby Shop. Just pick the correct diameter. cut to length, and then to bend it heat it about 1" over a candle until it gets soft, then pull it away immediately and hold it bent while it cools. The bending can be tricky to do at first, but after some practice you get the hang of it. After bending it, attach all the pieces together using plastic cement, not superglue. Model cement is available at Wal Mart, Michaels, and your hobby shop; it welds the plastic together unlike superglue.
