Question J30t Fuel Odor

First thing in the morning I can smell fuel insode the passenger compartment. I turn on the air recycle switch to keep out the outside air and the smell goes away. Therefore I am assuming the fuel odor is coming in from the engine compartment near the wipers. This makes me think there is a crack in the injector lines, or something similar. Anyone have this problem?

Re: J30t Fuel Odor

first check the rubber hoses that run from the fuel filter to the fuel valves on top of the intake. Chances are you have a cracked rubber hose or a loose clamp. If the fuel rail were cracked you would have engine running problems, cause the pressure in the fuel rail would be lower > 0 and the injectors wouldn't work.

Thats it.

Btw. DO NOT drive with the smell! If you do not want to be in hell - on earth, that is.

The problem has to be correct for your own safety.
