well i have 22.0/8.0 i think i need a taller slick because i get good 60'' ft times, but my tires squeel like there peeling out. i was wanting to know if anyone has used a taller slick on ther civic. now mine it lowered a little but can be adjusted higher. let me know thanks.

Do you warm them up good before you race? Also using a taller tire is going to change your gear ratio as well too, which will change your trap speed and ET. You need to consider this too when choosing tire sizes, the bigger the tire the taller the ratio.

well i think i do i mean i get them to smoken pretty good until the slick pulls me through while my e brake is up. here is a video of me at the track listen to the squeeling, also i have a b16 tranny how much do you think my trap and et will change with a 24'' slick. http://www.greenvillesource.com/vids/HonduhVSGT.mpeg

Re: slick sizes

what are your 60' ft times ? how about 1/4 times ?

are you spinning the slicks anytime down the track other then the launch ? also on the launch, are you still spinning tire when you hit second ?

your run looks good, i dont see any problem with it traction wise.

Re: slick sizes

1.8 60' times arent bad. have your tried playing around at where you launch at to see if you can go better, like higher rpm or lower ? what tire pressure r u running on the slicks ?

Re: slick sizes

well i have tried different tire pressures and i have found that 10 to 12 pounds is best for me. i launch at 6500 rpm on the bottle also with stock axles from auto zone, i m afraide that they will break.

Re: slick sizes

have you tried different rpms ? its really a boring matter to do, you need to choose a bunch of rpms and vary the tire pressure at each of those rpms. kinda like taking note.

i think if you do go to 24" then you will break those stock axles.

but i also think if you want a quick way into the 1.6 60' then 24" slicks should do it. but like mentioned above, it will change yoru et and mph.
