Unhappy Problem with Radio Presets - Anyone else experience?

Hi -

I have a 2003 X5 4.4i (with the Nav system) since new 2 years ago and I've had a radio problem since getting the car. Here it is:

I set the FM1, preset #1 to the music station I like
I set the FM1, preset #2 to the news station I like

I tend to listen to the news station more often due to a long commute.

What I find is that my FM1, preset #1 keeps resetting itself to the news station and losing the music station. In other words, it resets itself to the last radio station I've been listening to.

I have this problem with the preset #1 on every band (FM1, FM2, AM1 - not sure about FMA or AMA).

I'm on my 3rd radio and the problem will not go away. BMW says the radio is operating properly and refuse to admit there's something wrong.

I am the only driver of the car and always use the same key so it's not like someone else is changing the settings.

Is there anyone else out there who has experienced a similar problem (and maybe had it fixed), would you please reply here.

Many thanks and best regards,

Stacey

HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. turn off the optin that allows you to see than name of the song playing, and the other option that tells you the stations call letters. That solved my problem. it has something to do with the signal strength of th station.
