Traction bars

So now that I have Horsepower, a bad a** transmission, and a rear end with posi and some deep gears would traction bars really help out my ride? I stomped the gas yesterday for the first time! WOOOO! The car hauls. It peels out from a 15mph roll on! I really would just like to know where I should go from here?

Well if u have a lot of hp,traction bars will help a lot.But I would look into getting some other suspension parts all so, like new polyurethane bushings and shocks.

Subframe connectors(kenny brown double diamond) Lower control arms(BMR). Go with some springs that are for drag racing. Make sure you do your home work when you get the springs and shocks. They have to work together. If not, you're defeating the purpose on your launch. Oh and a strut tower brace (BMR)

Re: Traction bars

i believe its hotchkis that makes a complete suspension kit that works well. ive dealt with bmr a lot and am very satisfied, they have everything you could want and some stuff that you wont but will get anyways. i would say control arms, torque arm, trac bar, and atleast a rear sway bar upgrade.

Re: Traction bars

Remember here I have a '73 Camaro with a front frame and rear leaf springs. I dont have that fancy smancy four-link rear suspension lol nor strut towers.

The car is putting out about 350hp, has a 3 speed TH350 and has 3.73:1 rear ratio.

Re: Traction bars

for your car with that gear you really dont need any thing but you can add two cheap things small nos kit like 100hp shot if you do add the nos then you can add traction bars you do not need frame connectors with 350 hp my 355 in a 73 camaro made 550hp no frame connectors only traction bars with the snubber touching the leaf spring so when you hit the gas the bars dont have to move alot ...mike http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerc...37&prmenbr=361

Re: Traction bars

Thanks a lot 69ralleygreen. I am planning on running with what I got for a little while. Someday I do plan on actually going through my engine and tweaking some things like new pistons, AFR 195s or porting the camel humps I have in there now, nitrous, etc. I have my own I ideas of what to do but I just wanted to see what others thought I should do. It is always good to get outside opinions on a situation, they might see something you have overlooked or plainly know more then I do.
