Hey wassup everyone, I've finally decided to go with the Greddy Evo exhaust but now my question is......should I get the headers together with the exhaust or can it wait till later? (I'm thinking about the labor charges.) Is installing the headers easier if done at the same time with the exhaust or is it the same having it done alone? Or should I get CAI first b4 the headers? Cuz I'm on a low budget, so if it can wait till later....then I'd rather wait. What do u guys think? (Yea, I know, I know pretty much nothing about this whole import scene....but I'm learning more and more as I go along)

of course you can wait to put on headers. Personally, I'd go with an intake before headers because it is cheaper to buy and is very easy to install yourself.

Because I wouldnt know what I'd be doing and probably end up messing it up one way or another. And I dunno anyone else whose good with cars....yea sucks to be me.
I plan on beefing up my car as much as I can performance wise by adding as much horsepower as I can......exhaust -> CAI -> headers -> wires.....dunno what else after.......I think body kit. Any suggestions on what to do would be great dudes. |

wow...adding the most HP you can with 3 mods that will add (at the max) 20hp to my motor....that is really the most
wires won't do anything body kits won't add HP believe it or not.... PLus....if you can't take a wrench, a jack, and some common sense - you really shouldn't be around cars. No offense, but I just cannot stand it when i see someone with a really nice car that someone did everything to the car - and they only paid for it.

ouch......im just a guy just starting with this whole car stuff, with no1 around here to help me, its pretty hard to learn, if I had pics then yea I'd maybe able to do it myself. I was talking about adding as much horsepower without going tubo or anything, just keeping with the simple mods. the kit would be just for show dude. i know theres probably other things to add hp, I'll just learn about them as I go along.

To ANSWER your question, I would change my distributor cap, rotor button, spark plugs/wires, timing belt. THEN I would go intake, exhaust, header. Then, I would get pulley kit, cam, vafc....and the list goes on

VTEC_boi, deep breathe buddy hehe
I know waht you mean about having people pay to have everything done to their cars, but if no one is there to teach them, i can't see how they are expected to install stuff they don't even know exactly what i does... I've installed my own i/h/e, and it is really easy, but i had someone with me to show me the way... sylojai, most everyone on here is really good at giving good info, or sending you somewhere that can give you that good info...as far as install goes, intake header are easy bolt ons, instructions can be found on the internet, and definitely is not worth giving anyone more than a six pack to do it for you .... hell...for a zix pack, i'll do them both for you hhaha, j/k, but honesly each can be done within a half hour with 3 wrenches...research before you buy anything, and ask questions...we've all been there before. Take care, Mike

Thanx dudes, I'll look into during the next few days. I'll attempt to do it myself first if its really as easy as u guys say and save myself $60 for installation. *crosses fingers* But dont i need a hydraulic lift to get under the car or a will a jack be sufficient? Man, if i can pull it off myself, i'll even post up pics of my first real mechanical work..........haha

a jack will do fine, but to release myself from any liability from my statement, use jack stands...i don't want to hear that a car fell on you...
I'm assuming you're talking about the header, correct? The ease of installation is going to lie in whether or not it is a two peice or a one peice header...two peice is much easier from what i hear...i've heard that a one peice requires removal of the engine BUT THAT IS JSUT A RUMOR I HEARD...io don't know if that is true or not at all...i can't really see it being true. -Mike

k, if it's straight cat back it's an easy bolt on, check out the internet, all you ahve to do though is take off the bolts on the catalytic converter and remove all the hangers for the exhaust, let it drop down, then install the other one in reverse order, a retarded monkey with three fingers can usually do it...hehehe
