running rich

my car is running reall rich my friend said it was because i have a cut out and my car has no back pressure could that be the cause of it?

i got no cats and im running rich too. buncha people tried explaining it to me how it has something to do with open and closed loop yadda yadda and i didnt understand. if you want to "solve" the problem you might need a different o2 sensor or might hafta relocate it.

nahhh im fine with it untill emissions state inspection time then i will figure out what to do just wanna know whats causes it

if your running rich and you removed your cat its cause the O2 sensor is detecting too much badness in the exhaust. the ecu tries to compensate by adjusting the mixture and hence the non-stoich condition. the O2 sensor they are talking about to solve the problem is called an O2 simulator. basically sends a fake reading to the computer so it wont do what you car is doing. thats the abridged version...

i still have a cat i just have a high flow one, my cut out is after the cat

you still might want to look into an O2 simulator, ofcourse there are other reasons why your car is running rich. my understanding is that the high flow cats are just regular cats with a big ass hole drilled through the middle, so it might not work as well still. if its not operating within what the computer wants it will adjust...
