How do I verify remote unlock option?
I recently bought a 96 K2500 burb that was a repo vehicle. It has the Trail Master conversion and is fully decked out. Having all this good stuff, I suspect it also has that remote keyless entry option, but unfortunately I did not get any key fob transmitters with it.
Does anybody know how to verify if the truck is equipped with this option? Would it be on the encrypted in the "code list" sticker inside the glove box, or is there an easy was to verify if the truck has this option or not? Thanks, -Spencer |

I'm not sure if keyless entry will show up on the build sheet in the glove box or not. Call your local dealer with the VIN#, they should be able to help you out.
-slacker Hey, I just looked in my handy dandy GM production options book and it gives the keyless entry build code as AX3. If you find that in your glovebox, then you should have it. Get your fobs off of Ebay, then take to your dealer to have them programmed or look on here for a post on programming. Good luck!!

Turns out it didn't come with this option....Bummer!!! Once you have a keyless entry its hard to go back to turning a key, especially when the door handles are frozen like they are here sometimes in Colorado.
It looks like an aftermarket alarm that toggles the locks is the easiest way to get the keyless entry feature, so I'll probably go that route. Cheers, -Spencer |
