wanna be home for xmas,
i rplcd the alt belt and disc the batt cable chnging it, now it won't run. It did prior to disc the batt cable. It will run as long as i put gas in the carb and the filter isn't clogged, i ck'd it, please any ideas trying to get it fixed so i can get home for xmas, stuck in nc. please reply to my email at [email protected] thanks...

can anyone give me step by step or a schematic of an 84 gas tank? I need to remove it to rplc my fuel pump.. pls reply to my email...still stuck in n.c......

you have to raise the whole car at least 12-15 inches off the ground....the fuel pump is inside the gas tank which is located under the car, between the 2 seats. All you really need to do is undo all the hoses on the back of the tank, take off the braces that hold it in, and drop the tank out....being carefull not to spill any gas on you or your helper in the process. There is a collar that holds the sending unit in place at the top of the tank, just turn it counter-clockwise, i believe, and pull the sending unit out. Then replace the pump and always replace the sock filter too....then reassemble everything.
