Orange gear indicator light

Just recently my gear indicator light (the orange tab that tells you which gear you're in) stop shutting off when I take my key out. My truck was broken into last year and they jammed a screwdriver in the ignition, so I had to have the ignition replaced. Could they have not put it in correctly or does it sound like something else?

Re: Orange gear indicator light

It could be that something else was messed up with the break-in, it almost sounds like the contacts for transmission power aren't seperating(check trans fuse for 12V with igntion switch off on old body style, forgot which one it is on new body style). The fuse should be in the interior fuse panle on the old body style vehicles. Ignition 0 should be the fuse to check for power on new body style vehicles, should have no volts with ignition off
