Which ECU would be best for an OBDII B20B block with an OBDII B16A head and an OBDII B18C Tranny in a 00 Civic EX?

Re: ECU Question!!!

P73 or P2T
That is if you want to keep it OBDII, I don't know about where you live, but in some states if your car was OBDII then no matter what motor you swap in it has to be OBDII. Check with your local DMV.

Hondata is NOT an ECU. Hondata is a piggy back system for the ECU, you can buy Hondata but you will still need to buy an ECU, and you need to decide if you are going to use hondata before you buy the ecu. Hondata will only work on the OBDO and OBDI ECU's not OBDII !

Re: ECU Question!!!

It all depends on you, some ecu's will have the VTEC come on earlier, but you know that... So I suggest either a Type R ecu or for a lower cost but still good GSR. Add a piggyback if you get a craving for more power.

Your ECU is in limp mode. What mods have you done to the car?

Re: Re: Re: ECU Question!!!

the only thing done is an exhaust and that is it, do u know what could possiblely be doing that? the other day i took out the original air filter and i haven't broken down and gotten another one yet so it doesn't have a filter but the stock air box is still on there could that have anything to do w/ it?

What!
No filter? What is wrong with you? That probably has every thing to do with it, you should never, ever run your car without a filtern no matter what!!
Man how long has it been off? Have you done this in the past?

No no man I am saying that you have screwed the motor up or screwed some sensors up by running the car without a filter. The filter no being present will not trip the MIL but you have been sucking dust and any other air borne particles into the motor. That is very, very, very, very ,very bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Take it to a shop and get it fixed, if you don't know enough about it to know that running it without a filter is extremely bad then you will not be able to fix the car.
Take it to a shop and be sure to tell them that you have been driving it around for a while without a filter. That way they will know what they are dealing with. I hope you luck and hope that your motor is salvageable but if this is any example of how you take care of your car then I doubt it is salvageable.
