2.2L Swap suggestions

I have a 97 2.2L 4speed Auto Cavalier. The motor is blown. I'm thinking of getting a used 2.2L and replacing it. But, can I put the newer non ecotec 2.2L in there? (I think the 99s had 5 more torque). What about a S-10 2.2L of the same year? Also, while I have the motor out, any cheap mods I might be able to try? e-mail me at [email protected] Any help is appreciated.

Re: 2.2L Swap suggestions

New headers, port and polish your intake manifold.. Put a new head gasket on it..um.... other things i can think of are just vanity.... oh and when you get it running... wouldn't hurt to Sea foam it either.
