my turn signal on my 87 xj is broken wont stay down to the left how do I replace it?

If you're talking about the switch in the column, you'll need to remove the steering wheel. You'll need a steering wheel puller and a lock plate puller. You can find these at a local autoparts store. AutoZone usually have these to loan for no charge.
