Sticking slip yoke
My '02 Yukon's slip yoke has a tendency to stick or bind up when the vehicle comes to a stop. It seems that when the drive shaft compresses into the transfer case when slowing down the yoke does not flex back out too easily. When I accelerate from a stop I hear a slight thunk as the yoke slides out to it's regular position. Does anybody know of a fix for this? I put some grease on the splines of the yoke and seems to have solved it...but for how long? My '93 had the same problem.

There is a nickel-plated yoke available from GM that will solve the "lube every 10k miles" issue.
Hope this helps. |
