Intermediate steering shaft changeout

I've got the loose clunk noise in my steering shaft and was wondering if anyone knows how to change out the intermediate shaft. It seems fairly straight forward but I'm hung up on the firewall/weather sealing - how to slide it through that. Does the sealing around the shaft come out too? Thanks

FYI its a 2002 Yukon with autoride

Re: Intermediate steering shaft changeout

My 2000 Yukon had the same issue. I got the lube kit from the dealer for $15 and did it myself. There is one bolt inside the vehicle under the dash and one bolt in the engine compartment. The rubber boot does not come out. I pulled the shaft from inside the vehicle and reinstalled it the same way. It was not hard at all.
