Re: Help me (s10 clutch is weird)

your clutch works the same way as brakes, and needs brake fluid to work. There should be a small bottle under the hood, but just in front of the steering wheel. Pull the cap off, and look where the fluid is. My guess is that it's empty.

next fill it with brake fluid, and let it sit for 1/2 an hour or so.

now look at all the hoses underneeth it, right up to the end looking for a leak. I'm sure that there is 1 there somewhere, which is why I said to leave it for the 1/2 hour.
If you don't find it don't worry about it for now.

You'll need a friend to help you with this, your dad will probably do fine, but at the end of the lines there is a little container, called a clutch cylinder if I remember correctly, and this has a bleeder on it.
it kinda looks like a nipple
pump the clutch several times, then hold it to the floor, and tell your helper HOLDING, and it's their job to un-screw that bleeder 1/2 a turn or so, then tighten it... next they should tell you to pump it up, and you repeat the process... Over and over untill you have a working clutch.

Very important, check the fluid level in that jar type thing OFTEN... until the job is done

If you haven't found the leak yet just watch for it, and keep an eye on the fluid level

Please supply more information.

What year is this truck and is it a 4X4?

When you say "put it in gear started", does that mean you can put it in gear, engine running, let the clutch out and the truck doesn't move?

If it's a 4X4, is the transfer case in neutral?
