im 14 and i know u guys are going to give me a hard time but i would like to own a skyline r32 and up i have been to some sites not bad but i need better ones and i also would like to know what happans when u make it usa legal and how much does it chost

I doubt you can even afford the legalization. Which through MotoRex is a slim $16,000 alone. And that doesnt include the cost of the car, which isnt going to be cheap either.

I would say you need to lower your standards buddy... Because think about it... A Skyline is not all that great of a machine.

Stock they're not that fast... It takes quite a bit of money to get them running up to snuff.

Dude my honest advice to you, get an S13 240sx, and just learn about cars on something simple like that. You cant hit the top at the begining... I know I sure didnt.

Hell, I had to rebuild my ENTIRE engine in my first car, replace the EFI Harness, paint the car, and re-do the interior... All by myself. But I tell you, it was the best experience of my life.

Do something like that... It will teach you to appreciate cars more, trust me there.

A Skyline will come later in life bro, just give it time.

Basically, what he said, with the inclusion of, you're not going to impress anyone. The name means View from a lake. Not a god. Anything with 250 Hp will give it a good run for it's money. It's a legend because of the engine. You won't have money to do engine work right away, so buy something to learn on.

Anyways, what he said is true as well... You can always swap a Skyline powertrain into a 240sx if you feel so compelled to do so.

You'll figure out someday (hopefully) that building a sleeper is the best way to go. Here is why:

-Where I live, if you have a nice car, YOU GET PULLED FOR NOTHING... And Im not just saying that, literally, they will pull you and search your car just because you have a body kit, rims etc etc.

So its best to leave the exterior stock, and just beef the engine up.

-Go to the tracks with a stock looking 240sx, and chances are no one will take you serious... Until they see you throw down a mid-high 12 second run.

-If you dont spend any money on flash, it leaves a lot more money for dash. So save the $1,200 you are going to spend on rims, and get yourself a bigger turbo system.

But figure this stuff out for yourself... I had to, and I relized that body kits and things like that... Are just a waste of money.

It also depends on what you are using the car for. If you want a show car then try to get a gts...
If it is for racing, then just go w/ a 240 with an SR20 or an RB26. It wont mean it's slow just because it says 240 SX instead of Skyline GTR.

If you're planning on getting one for the rarity, say to you this...No one even knows what a skyline is. No one knows you can't go get one from the nissan dealership down the street. No one knows it comes with one of the most dangerous Japanese engines of all time.

Trust me, if it's recognision youl want, save your monie for an old ferrari Testarossa. It's a ferrari, which everyone knows, and it'll probably run you about the same as getting into canada.

Zed, that's not always true. I mean, some guys like to show off, and are into all show, no (Or medium, in the skylines case) go.

If, after all this, youl still decide you want a skyline, then itll run you a minimum of 25k for a GTR. probably ALOT more.

That's why you have a plan B, like me...Kit cars are the wave of the future, my friend

Ur 14 u aint got to worry bout a car for a little while enyways, I am 17 almost 18 i need a car more than a 14 year old, I have a 280zxt it need a little bit of work hear and there but it is a good beginers car so u can learn alittle about cars and how they work, Like they said get o 240sx or a civic but dont worry bout the skyline right now

I've been into Skylines since GT1... I had one in the game, and I started researching them... So I took it from there.

O and HighOctaneNOSUser, That was my take on the 'All dash, no flash' thing, and following directly after that, I said 'Just figure it out for yourself'

So if someone wants their car too look fast, and not have the cajones to back it up... Thats their deal. I was just speaking for myself personally.

I've been into cars in general since before I can remember... Only reason I knew that is because my parents have pictures of me since I was born... And in every picture Im playing with a toy car, or looking at the car ads in the paper.

My first word was 'vroom' ... Or I guess that would be a first sound... But still.

I was into muscle cars from grade one, until about grade 6... When I got my first ride in my brothers best friends '95 Eclipse GS-X... WOW.

Thats when I found out what a 'BLOW-OFF VALVE' was... And from then on... Obsessed.
