G35 v.s. the Z.

My buddy and I were coming back from his school. He had to drop off some work there. Low and behold we turn left to get on 316 to go to buford and there is a new Infiniti G35 right behind us.

He was messing with me on the road going to 316, he kept jumping the car and riding my butt. I always wanted to see if these cars were fast but was always too afraid to do so in the Mustang. Well i turned left on 316 and so does he. Whoooooooo hooooooooo!!! ITS ON!

I put it in first and ride it out until i was at like 30mph. Nothing. He's still behind me. I figure he doesnt want to race, so i go to second, and right when i went to 2nd, he's lights shoot up and he passes me.

So i jump on it too, and he had a damn good jump on me, probably about 2-3 cars before my car started picking up. I redline 2nd, go to third and i'm pulling pretty decent, by the time i hit 100 my front bumper was at his passenger side mirror. I grabbed 4th and started to pull again, and right when my nose passed his nose he shut down.

That was the best race i've had yet. I didnt think those cars were that quick.
To be a 3.5L.

Anybody else ever got to run against one yet? Those little things put up a fight. I had a much harder time pulling on the G35 than i did the GT.

Just thought i'd share. Peace.

Nice race. I don't know too much about the 35's. A few guys here in the forums own them. You drive a Z? What kinda mods do you got there? Sounds like an exciting race. late...

Re: G35 v.s. the Z.

ya, that confuses me too, z28 or LS1 please... or at least 'the L' or 'the S1.' nice kill though, i personally dont like the 35's. this gay korean kid at my HS has one. he thinks its the fastest thing since microwave burrito's. there is alot of rice at my school. but ther are only about 5 people that act like ther cars are actually fast. a kid in a '03 Mitsubishi Eclipse Coupe, '02 S2000, '03 G35 *these past 3 hang togather hand have their little rice crew, not saying these cars are slow, well the eclipse is but hey), '89 CRX, and '96 delso sold then '04 maxima (actually kinda fast for what it is, 14.2 with nothing but a MAF and cold air, and that weighed down with a kick L7, enclosure, and amp) and now a riced out blazer.... well any way, ill stick to my friends who either dont htink their cars are fast ('87 bronco, lol) or who's cars are actually fast (Mustang GT, supercharged with exaust, but im not a mustang fan, and LS1 with programer, intake, exaust, and cam)

Re: G35 v.s. the Z.

You should race a G35 coupe form a stop, they are rather quick out of the whole.

haha I thought this was going to be a G35 coupe vs 350 Z thread, I didn't even think about a Z28 lol.

I had the pleasure of taking out a G35 coupe (although it was a 5spd "manumatic"). I wasn't very impressed. I was, however, very impressed when my dad took out a 6spd Sedan with me, and sqealed the first 3. I think the one I drove wasn't working good because of being a demo and ripped all the time with the addition of the auto. I must say, I love the classic looks and the gorgeous interior. They are great cars. BTW, nice kill. I'm surprized he ran you that hard.

Thank you for reminding him, it's not like it's already been said 5 times before.

Re: G35 v.s. the Z.

Nice job! I know the 350Z is alittle lighter then us [G35 Coupes] being as its only a 2-seater and it has 7 more hp. Also, the Sedan is lighter than the Coupes...but they only have the 260hp engine.

I still haven't gotten to race a 350Z [or anything for that matter....] Maybe one day!!
