Re: car wont start!! please help?

are you getting fuel to the motor? how about spark? if your getting both, then your timing is off, or you are having a problem with a sensor

you may have fuel pressure at the injectors but it might not be enough.
to see if the car will start at all pour a few tablespoons of gas into the throtle body and try to start it. if it kicks and trys to run then dies. you have a fuel delivery problem.
Most likely the pump not delivering enough fuel or the pressure regulator is broke or a badly pluged fuel filter. like suger in the gas. It will plug up a filter compleatly

I would say that you have a motor that is way out of time. or has bent intake valves or both.

how much fuel did you put in there?
maybe too much. but i gather it did't try to run.

how can it be out of time if all the marks are lined up perfect and if you take off the valve cover the lobes on the cams are up and the #1 piston valves is closed it turns over and it acts like it wants to start but it just wont and air comes out of the intake and sometimes it shoot falmes out...i have no idea whats goin on...anymore ideas...thanx

both marks on the cams should face each other at the same time the cranks mark on the crankshaft timing sprocket should point to the arrow mark on the oilpump housing. if thats the way everything is then I would make sure the plug wires are going to the proper cylinder.
#1 the the left most (passenger side of the car) cylinder going 1,2,3,4 to the right.
if its blowing fire out the intake. its out of time at the cams or in the ignition or it has at least 1 bent or stuck open intake valve.

Exhaust cam > <Intake cam

V Oilpump housing
^ Crank shaft.

how are you looking at the crankshaft mark if the pully is on?
if your just assuming that #1 piston is up so that should be good. you would be wrong you could be a lot more off than you might think.

it is very likely that your valves are 2 or 3 belt notches too advanced or retarded. this would cause the piston t push some air + fuel back out the intake.

I have changed the timing two or three times now and it still does it... i tried to start it each time and it keeps doing the same thing... I have already got the valves redone and they said the seats were a little thin, but the valves were straight. i dont have any clue what it would be now...iv had the crankshaft pulley off for some time now, just so i could change the timing if needed... anyone have any ideas??? thanks
