Need Help on what i should get to Lower My 90 Honda Accord!!!

I'm New with the modification of of cars.

I just bought a:

1990 Honda Accord LX (4 Door)

I looked at a few body kits for it and was satisfied with 1 i had seen.

I was told you should lower your car before you purchase your body kit, so you are able to tell your clearance.

Is this all i have to do to lower my ride???

Purchase Coil-Over or Lowering Springs And Shortened Shocks?

Or will i have to Modify my A Arms and and linkages???

I would greatly appriciate it if You would help me with this and/or give me a web sight on were i could go to get more information about it!!!

Thank You,
Wister06

it depends on how much you lower your car. example eibach prokit does not lower your car a lot but it is better than stock, you should change your struts also because the factory struts would go bad if you leave it on. if you drop it lower such as the sportline springs then you would need a chamber kit, so that your tires waste evenly.if not you would begin to see uneven wear on your tires. if your are going to put a body kit and drop your ride i hope you live in a place with out ramps because you will break your body kit doing simple things like goin in to get gas, or on the concrete stump in some parking lots. hope this helps good luck

It all depends on where you live, and what kind of drop your looking for? for instance I live in Mass, and we do get snow here in the winter, so I went with the coilover suspension. With this I am able to lower my car up to 4" for the summer, and bring it back up for the winter. got some tein's off ebay $850 . You can get just the coilover sleeves off there, for cheaper, but you'll end up buying new struts soon anyway, so why not just get the whole thing in one purchase. The factory struts will blow with any kind of performance springs. So you shouldn't go the cheap route, and just buy the springs . remember you get what you pay for.

With Koni Yellows, there are 3 different perch settings. With lowering springs, you won't have to compress them to change the perch setting. Doesn't give you 4 inches of range like the other more or less like 2-3 inches of range.

Just don't get the cheap coilovers. The springs can't take the impact and will bottom your car out all the time.

Sorry man, Koni yellows are gas adjustable struts to use with lowering springs. The position for the spring perch can be moved by moving the clip to a different slot on the strut. It is not a coil-over system. Unless you shell out the $$'s for coilovers, don't get any cheap ones...for like a 100 for the set on e-bay or something like that.

Konis are a great product, when used with a good quality lowering spring, like eibach, neuspeed, or H&R. I've installed a set in my buddies integra and it made the car corner like a slot car (which means it was fast).

Just drive around with 3 heavy people in the car when you want it lowered. A couple sand - salt bags in the trunk will also help.
