Re: bad injector

It must be P0300=cylinder misfire detected(random), P0303=cylinder number 3 misfire. What year is this? How many miles you have on it? You may have to have the computer reset to clear the codes if you changed plugs because the computer will try to override the spark plug firingon its own. Its strange but that's how the thing works. My wifes 97 had a misfire on #4 so I changed plugs and wires and until I had the computer reset it still ran like s---. After resetting computer it runs great.

Re: bad injector

I've read on other forums in here that the random miss is a tech's worst nightmare. What kind of plugs did you put in? Since the code states its cylinder #3 you may want to take a look at that plug. If you have the v-6 I know its a bitch to get at.

Re: bad injector

I am at a loss otherwise. If the plugs came pre-gapped make sure you check them just to be sure they were gapped right when the were manufactured.

Re: bad injector

I am at a loss. If I read about anything or come across anything else that may help with the random miss code I'll pass it on otherwise it may be the injector (cylinder #3,P0303).

I just went trough this and it was the injector. I replaced coils, coil covern, fuel pressure regulater. it was my injector. You can move it to another one can the code should move as well.

Re: bad injector

While you are working on it, check the MAP sensor vacuum feed hose, for some reason mine was completly rotted, all other hoses were fine. Very odd due to the fact I have a '01 GA Quad 4, that hose should not be rotted yet. It caused severe idle problems and stalling.

Re: bad injector

The quick and easy way to narrow down either Coils or Injectors would be swap the Ignition Coils intead because that is very easy. If the misfire changes to another cylinder, then the Ignition Coil is the problem. If the misfire stays at the same cylinder, then the problem is with that injector.
