tire question

i am going to race a friend this weekend and i want every advantage i can get. he has a 86 IROC against my 96 saturn. the only mod i have is an intake, he is giving me a head start but i want to get the best start. how much psi should i have in the front tires?

I don't have an answer to your question (sorry) but why race against an OHV V8 camaro? If you just have an intake he'll kill you.

cause he is giving me a head start, kinda like bracket racing at a drag strip. i know i would lose with an even start, but i want to try and make it even.

Re: tire question

kindda hard to say, it all depends on a million factors. but if anything i would if its a SC1, go with the stock pressure, if its a SC2 go about 3-4 PSI under(keep in mind those are just guesses, i've never researched the subject)

Re: Re: tire question

if the iroc is stock you got somewhat of a chance.. but usually you wanna keep the pressure at like 30 -32 unless you got some racing rubber on the you can get a lil harder
