Re: Oil Catch Can?

Put a breather filter on your PCV valve... Problem solved... From what i can see, thats all it does. Runs from your PCV vavle to that tank then back into your intake... I don't think it would be worth the money.

Re: Oil Catch Can?

We used to see this on old cars that had blow-by. They would come in wit the PCV hose tucked into a coffee can with a rag in the bottom. LOL

I agree that with a N/A car a breather is fine. A catch can is usually seen on a turbo car. Problem is when you boost around 20 or 30 lbs of boost you get pressure in the block sometimes. The catch can will catch any oil that comes out the breather for the engine. The catch can goes between the breather and the engine. So, as was said, with a N/A car you do not really need a catch can.

We had catch cans before we had ever seen or heard of a turbo. A Turbo was a device found only on diesel trucks and exotic cars back then. Old cars blew a lot of oil. Sometimes we would pour it back into the motor when we got enough in the can.lol

Re: Oil Catch Can?

Don't bother buddy unless you want to add 'an excellent engine dress up item that will give your car the race car look' even more so than a HUGE Aluminum wing!!!!!!!

The breather in you intake should have something to stop the oil from the breather entering the intake this should still be fine on a 2000
