When I removed all of my emblems I used the Goo Gone stuff, but I had to do it over and over and over and I had to let the stuff soak on the 'sticky' for a few minutes each time.
It wasn't a quick thing to do...kind of pissed me off after a while when I was taking off my 'civic' one, leaving all of that residue on my car... ...sitting out there for EVER drenching it in goo gone, waiting a few minutes, scrubbing like crazy, then repeating over and over.... It finally all came off clean, and it looks like there was nothing there ever, but it took a LOT more effort than I was expecting.
I'm told that any kind of bug/sap/tar remover is supposed to work well. Hopefully better than the goo gone
If anyone knows of anything that works better, let me know too

just go up to your local automotive store and see what they got for cheap. all the products are basically the same. a hairdryer helps but wont do the entire job for you. i took of the wing guard from my sunroof with a hairdryer, BUT there was still a lot of residue. i also removed the pinstripe down the side of my car with some cheap spray stuff. like he said, just keep doin it over til its completely gone.
