if you ever plan to upgrade, ever, go with 8 or 4...wire is fairly cheap so why not

Re: how thick of wire do i use for my subs

dotn mean to change the thread but while its on the topic about how much power will 4 guage work with befor eyou need to upgrade to 2/1/0 ga.? the reason im curious is the hifonics brutus 1500 had connections for 4 ga. power/gnd wires. is 1500 fine with 4 guage wire? or if not what is the cutoff for about how much power can be run through 4 ga. wire.

oh and i knwo the length of the wire makes a difference but im just trying to get an estimate.. like figure the wire is like 15 ft.

Re: how thick of wire do i use for my subs

it's based on current, not power

4awg is good up to ~125amps
