Bumped into a c6

Alright I was heading out to work and I was driving behind this RSX-S. It looked like it had alot done to it, and was really nice looking. Also exhaust did not sound ricey, but rather pleasent. I downshifted to 3rd to get to the side of him. As I am halfway through my lane change, I notice in front of him is a red c6 corvette. It looked Fantastic.

I think since he heard my exhaust note after the downshift, he thought I was aiming toward him, so he took off. Not really fast, but decent acceleration from like 40-65, then slowed again. I played catchup and got next to him. I thought, if I race him, ill get my ass kicked. But I really love the new vette, so I figured id lose just to see it in action.

As we are driving, I clutched in and gave a couple revs, he looked over twice, and the second time he ended with a smirk. I was still admiring the car.

We get to a redlight (just turned red on a busy intersection) and he puts his window down. He asked me if I had anything done to the car. I told him it had flowmasters and a k&n filter (which it does), and he was like you seriously want to race? Im like "I know Ill get killed, I just love your car and want to see it in action." He told me the reason he wouldnt give me a go was because the car was picked up yesterday, and he wants to "break-in his new baby." I dont blame him.

Anyways, we talked throughout the red, and he was really a cool guy. He previously owned a Supercharged Trans-Am, but ran into some mechanical problems, and he said the Vette was his answer. As the counter-light turned yellow, he turned to me and said "well, I got to head out, but ill see you in the scene soon." Im not sure if it will happen, but I sure hope it does.

Re: Bumped into a c6

I love to watch cars and bikes in action. Does anybody else get goosebumps when they see a bike or a really nice car in action. Don't know why but when I see a bike open it up, I get goosebumps throughout my entire body. Same if I see and hear a turbocharged car in action. Oooooh the sound of turbos. Ooooooh the sound of bike engines. They sound like F1s. Those too give me goosebumps.

Nice encounter with the vette. Too bad huh? Oh well, gotta respect his respect for the car.

Oh, high 12's is pretty fast for a stock car. I saw a vid on racingflix.com of a C6 vs. an 04 Z06. It was a pretty good video. It seemed the Z took it convincingly from a roll, while the C6 took it from a dig (although the Z obviously gave him the jump). I do love those new Vettes though, very sexy.

Well although I do like the RSX-S, it was nothing compared to the vette. However I will admit it was done very nicely, sounded great to, I wanted to see if he had a intercooler setup up front, but once the vette caught my attention, I didnt care anymore.
