pcv valve

Does anybody know how to check if a pcv valve is not working properly?

if you take the pcv valve and shake it, it SHOULD rattle. if not, then get a new one.

I would just replace it every 10,000 miles....theyre like 3 bucks anyway....i never check if its broke or not...
