od button no longer works
ive had a 94 4.6tbird for about a year now, and recently i noticed that my button on the shifter that deactivates overdrive no longer functions. it no longer put the "OD OFF" light on in the dash.its killin me, cuz some little punk in an altima destroued me yesterday and i could have used the extra help. has anyone else experienced this?

It's most likely that little wire thats running along the length of the gear selector. The solder connections most likely needs to be re-soldered.
BTW, taking off O/D will not make your car a race winner-in fact, i've noticed my car gets a better jump when o/d is on (od off-3gears/od on-4gears). I used to think leaving it off gave better results-nope, it doesn't. Also, your engine will be spinning @ a higher rpm, more wear etc. Better a damaged tranny than a broken engine. What car you got.? Engine? Welcome man..glad to see another tbird racin them ricers.. 95 4.6 V8 is my toy for now. |

The switch might just be unplugged.
