97 Sable heater not working right 12/8/04
I have a 97 sable and this summer I had to replace the black plastic part of the temperature knob (turning the air from cold to warm). For about one week I manually turned the inner knob and I don't know if maybe I disconnected something in doing so. The air conditioner works fine and when I move the knob to turn the temperature to warm I still get cold air. It has the full range of levels of air it is just cool air. I was wondering if maybe anyone else has had this happen and if I should replace the part with the inner knob on it or if I should try all of the heater core stuff I read on other messages. Thanks!

Try the above link to solve yor problem, I had a similiar problem, turned out being the blend door actuator for me. I have succesfully replaced it without removing the whole dashboard, but it requires patience. |

Thank you soooo much. I will def. try that. Did you remove the radio and work your way back or were you able to do everything from under the hood?

Yes, removal of the radio and the ashtray if you have one. Also the kick panel and glove compartment. Take your time removing the screws and once all of them are off pry slowly, so you don't break the actuator plastic. I did it in an hour and a half. Good luck
