As stated in an earlier post the cruise control on my `01 Windstar quit one day. Well after checking out the easy things I finally got around to taking out the cruise control actuator that is located under the air filter. The actuator, PN XFZF-9C735-AG, has a circuit board and upon removing that board I noticed that one of the components was definately "fried". The mechanical components looked to be in good shape so I guess I'll try to get a new board or perhaps the entire actuator. Where besides the Ford dealer can I try to get one?

Re: Cruise control problem identified!
HI
I have a '96 but don't think the cruise servo has changed much. You can try a junk yard, I did find one there once, or for new check out fordpartsonline.com. They deal out of California well below list. Still a pricey part, but better than your local dealer for walk in. |

Re: Cruise control problem identified!
fordpartsonline doesn't have a lot, though. I found all but one component I needed at autopartsgiant.com. They had the best prices I could find, though there are shipping and handling charges that make up the difference.
